Ashwood Medical Centre was originally set up by Dr. Declan Herbert in 1979. Dr. Maria Wilson joined him in 2005.
Dr Herbert retired on 31st March 2018 after 39 years in practice Dr. Wilson is the principal.
Dr. Wilson qualified in 1988 from the Royal College of Surgeons. She is married with three children. She completed her vocational training in 1994. She has been a GP trainer for the past 15 years and also runs an educational course for The Irish College of General practice. She has many areas of interest and is a tutor in contraception. Her main love is the variety of problems presenting in general practice but also enjoys the challenge of addiction and mental distress.
