The seasonal flu vaccine changes every year and is specific to the winter of that particular year. It should be taken between September and October for maximum protection.
- Person aged 65 and over
- Those aged 6 months and older with a long term health condition such as Asthma, COPD, Heart Disease, Diabetes Mellitu, Down Syndrome, Morbid Obesity i.e. body mass index over 40, Immunosuppression including Asplenia or Splenic dysfunction
- Pregnant Women at any stage of the pregnancy
- Healthcare Workers
- Residents of nursing homes and other long-stay institutions
- Carers
- People with regular contact with pigs, poultry or waterfowl
